We got this EIVOTOR Cable Tracker to use during our remodel we plan on running
Ethernet cable to each of our rooms and since we plan on doing all of
the work ourselves including crimping and putting the end connectors on
each cable, we needed a reliable way to test all of our cables and this
cable tracker presented an affordable way for us to make sure all of our
cables were good. For testing your Ethernet cables you just plug both
ends of the cable into each unit and it emits a signal in sequence from
one end which you can then review on the receiving end. The unit does
come with earbuds so that you can hear the sound emitted but we found
the volume of the unit without the earbuds to be sufficient for our
needs. It comes with a case, earbuds, wire tester/tracker, and user
manual. We have also used this for diagnosing the coaxial cable running
through our home and it worked great for that also. My boyfriend loves
this gadget.
